Governance
The Society was established as an unincorporated Society in the name of the Medical Disability Society. The name was changed to the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine (BSRM) in December 1991 and in 2022 the name was changed again to the British Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (BSPRM). The original Constitution of the BSPRM remains the Governing document.
In 2023 the membership approved at the Annual General Meeting for the Society to apply to the Charity Commission to update our registration to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The application to become a CIO was accepted by the Charity Commission in September 2024 and the charity began functioning as a CIO from January 2025.
Expense Claims
Eligible expenses may be reclaimed in line with our Expenses Policy.
Expense claim forms should be submitted, with supporting receipts for all claims. Any mileage claim will need to identify the start and end point.
Expenses will be paid at the end of the month in which claims are submitted.
